If your degree certificate is lost, we recommend the following steps:
Step 1: Confirm the loss and keep evidence
Check moving boxes, frame backs and old folders first. If the loss is confirmed, keep any police report or loss declaration, as some schools request it.
Step 2: Contact the academic affairs office
Universities in China typically issue a Graduation Certificate or Degree Certificate letter with the same legal effect as the original. Overseas registrar offices issue a Certified Copy or Replacement Diploma.
Step 3: Arrange the transition period
Official replacement usually takes 2–8 weeks. In the meantime, employers or immigration bodies can accept a CHSI verification report (China) or a Letter of Completion from the school.
We can draft the English correspondence, review application forms, and provide a memorial replica for personal display during the waiting period.

Do I have to visit the school in person to apply for the degree certificate letter?
Most schools in China accept a notarized authorization letter for a representative; overseas schools generally handle the whole application online.
